Be respectful
- Treat others as you would in a professional setting. Disagree with ideas, not people.
- Every question is welcome, whatever someone’s experience level. No one should feel talked down to for asking.
- No harassment, personal attacks, discriminatory language, or hostility. This is the one line we hold firmly.
Keep it useful
- Search before posting — your question may already be answered.
- Give context: the SAP area, what you tried, and what you saw. Good detail gets good answers.
- Share what you know. The community works because people answer, not just ask.
- Mark a reply as the answer when it solves your question — it helps the next person.
Stay on topic and professional
- Keep discussions related to SAP delivery, DevOps, and the topics this community covers.
- No spam, no repeated off-topic posting, no unsolicited direct messages to other members.
Sharing products and services
This is a practitioner community, not an advertising channel — but useful recommendations are part of real help. So:
- Allowed: mentioning a tool, service, or your own product when it genuinely answers the question being asked — and you disclose your affiliation.
- Not allowed: standalone promotion, advertising, or posts whose main purpose is to market something rather than help.
In short: if it directly helps the person asking and you’re open about who you are, it’s welcome. If it’s an ad, it isn’t.
Protect confidential information
- Don’t post credentials, tokens, system hostnames, or other secrets — even in screenshots. Redact before sharing.
- Don’t share customer data, or anything your organisation would consider confidential.
A note on answers
Community answers are shared in good faith by members and are not official ReleaseOwl support or advice. Always validate guidance against your own environment and, where it matters, with the ReleaseOwl team. For account-specific or urgent issues, use Product Support.
Moderation
We keep moderation light and rely on members to help. Posts that break these guidelines may be edited or removed, and repeated or serious breaches may lead to loss of access. If you see something that doesn’t belong, use the report option or contact the community team — please don’t engage with it publicly.
The short version: be respectful, be helpful, be honest about who you are, and keep confidential information out of your posts. Do that, and you’re a great member of this community.
